Purley Day Nursery is a friendly nursery situated in a very quiet, tree lined residential area of Purley. Purley Day Nursery is registered and graded ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education), who oversee standards of care and education in the Early Years sector, and ensure that our provision meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage in respect of welfare and curriculum.
Aims and Objectives
The first five years of life is a very formative period during a child’s development. For this reason, at Purley Day Nursery we aim to provide a safe, loving, stimulating and fun environment where children can play, learn and develop their potential in the early years of their life. Our objectives are to allow children to make choices, nurturing their individuality and assisting them to gain self-esteem and confidence that in turn promote fundamental British values. We aim to ensure the quality of our provision for the care and education of all the children, recognising their needs and celebrating their diversities.
Purley Day Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, in which it incorporates the Montessori approach to children’s learning and development. Maria Montessori believed that the necessary ‘Practical Life Skills’ embedded within her approach were fundamental to preparing children to live and lead independent lives. These skills are practised within the daily routines as children get ready to embark on their journey to school.
Purley Day Nursery believes working in partnership with parents is paramount to children’s learning and development, and therefore strive towards a collaborative approach between parents and the setting for children’s learning and development.
The nursery has developed various policies and procedures, copies of which are available for parents and carers to read and ask questions.
Hours of Operation
Purley Day Nursery opens from 7:45 am – 6:00 pm (Monday to Friday) for full day care for 52 weeks in the year. We are happy to discuss your requirements with you, with the aim of accommodating these within the setting.
